Chitrangada snubs Aamir

Chitrangada Singh has turned down Aamir Khan's Delhi Belly because she feels she has nothing to do

Chitrangada Singh is not doing Aamir Khan's Delhi Belly opposite Ranbir Kapoor and the actress has conveyed her decision to Aamir Khan Productions.

Our well-placed source in the film industry says, "Chitrangada has said 'no' to Delhi Belly. The film revolves around three guys and the heroine does not have much to do in the film. Moreover, Chitrangada had some reservations about certain scenes in the film."

Chitrangada, who had a stunning presence in Hazaron Khwahishen Aisi, recently returned to Bollywood after a two-and-half-year long gap.

When contacted, Chitrangada confirmed that she is not doing Delhi Belly. Talking to us from Delhi, she said, "Yes, I am not doing Delhi Belly. Though it has a great script, it didn't work out for me. The director (Abhinay Deo, son of yesteryears actor Ramesh Deo) looks at the film in a certain way and I respect his decision."

Apparently, Chitrangada had earlier shot an ad with Abhinay and had left the director spellbound with her charisma. Buzz was, Abhinay had insisted Aamir to sign her as the female lead. Our source adds, "It would have been great if Chitrangada had done the film. The search for the female lead has begun all over again." Abhinay recently directed the famous cola ad with Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Delhi Belly is a dark comedy and was earlier supposed to be directed by the Swedish director Robert Nylund, but Aamir had a difference of opinion with Nylund and then asked Abhinay to hold the directorial reins.
