Saawariya duo, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor will be seen on screen a second time in Shimit Amin's new Yash Raj Films project.
The Chak De! India director, who took a long time to roll his next, has finally begun work on the film starring the star kids.
Says a source, "Though Ranbir's name figured in Shimit's project a while back, Sonam's signing is a new development. Both have given their consent and will begin work soon."
On talking terms
After Saawariya's lukewarm response, no filmmaker thought of casting the two together. Later there was a buzz - post the release of Saawariya – that Sonam and Ranbir, who were childhood buddies, were not on talking terms! However, now that they have signed a film together, it puts all speculation to rest.
When asked about the details of his next film, Shimit stated that he cannot say anything about the project. "I am still working on the script."
The source maintains, "None of the stars want to comment about their casting as it is a Yash Raj project and everyone is sworn to confidentiality. Moroever, in the past there was a buzz about Sonam being part of Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with Shah Rukh Khan, but ultimately things did not work out in her favour. As a result, both Sonam and her dad Anil Kapoor are being extremely cautious till Yash Raj makes a formal announcement.
