Kajol’s cousin to direct a KJo production with Ranbir and Konkona
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions believes in keeping it new.
That much is apparent as the production house readies to work with a slew of new directors.
It is learnt that Kajol’s cousin Ayaan Mukherjee is in talks with Karan for a project.
Sources reveal that the film is tentatively titled Wake up Sid and will be a romantic comedy.
Even though details of the project have yet to trickle in, sources tell us that the film will have Ranbir and Konkona playing the leads.
They’re excited
A source reveals, “Ranbir has impressed Karan immensely and he wants to do a lot of films with the newcomer. When Ranbir was given the script for the film, he was very excited.
The role suits his age and personality. Konkona too who’s been looking for diverse roles was more than willing to be a part of the film.”
The subject of Wake up Sid revolves around a good looking young guy who falls for an older not so attractive woman.
“Konkona will have hardly any make up in the film.
Ranbir plays the yuppie who’s drawn to her, but she doesn’t understand why.
The movie has a lot of comic situations and Ayaan has been working on this subject for a long time.”
Friends close to Ranbir tell us that the actor is a huge fan of Konkona and was thrilled to learn that he would be working opposite her in the film.
