For Bollywood actor and teenage heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, the Capital city of Delhi is like a second home.

”I may not come to Delhi much often of late but I have a strong association with the city. My sister and my aunt are here. I love everything associated with Delhi. The food here is wonderful and it has wonderful people. In short, it is a wonderful city,” Ranbir said at an event last evening where he was roped in as a brand ambassador for Panasonic.

Ranbir Kapoor, who was chosen by Panasonic as the brand ambassador for its VierA LCDs & plasmas, Television & home theatre brands, said being looked upon as a youth icon across the country was a matter of pride for him.

”It is a matter of privilege for me to be considered among the youth icons in the country. At the same time, it also puts tremendous responsibility on me to live up to the expectations of the youth, Ranbir said.

Speaking at the launch, the CEO of Panasonic India Pvt. Ltd, Daizo Ito, said Ranbir was chosen as the brand ambassador because of his customary rise to fame and his epotimising graceful style and talent, the qualities which symbolised Panasonics VierA series.

”Being on the top of chartbusters, Ranbir with his cool and trendy image, though traditional, is a perfect match for VierA series, Mr Ito said.

”Panasonic as a brand signifies the lineage of its products, which also visualize the latest trends and exciting image at the same time. Ranbir shows the same ‘zing’ attached with the brand and he connects with his audience with a unique sense of style. We are confident that this association will be instrumental in communicating the trendy yet traditional image of Viera to consumers across the country,” he added.

On his part, Ranbir said he had chosen to endorse the brand as he had grown up using the Panasonic range of products.

When I was small, my father Rishi Kapoor brought the Panasonic speakers which were among his cherished possessions. As a youth, I too had Panasonic phone and speakers as among my favourite products. And, today I am proud to be sitting with the gentlemen who have achieved so much in their respective fields,” Ranbir said. ”Like every movie I choose to be a part of, I have chosen to endorse this brand after careful thought. I can only hold up those products that I am fully convinced about. It is an exciting brand that has a distinctive identity reflective of the attitude and values that I consider important, trustworthy, stylish and trendy,” he added.

I personally feel that the Viera range of LCDs & plasma are great innovations which will definitely benchmark todays generation, the actor added.
